ICDM: Christmas is Coming

Dear friends of ICDM,

In this season of Thanksgiving, I would like to share some of the things I am thankful for. I am thankful that in spite of fuel shortages and political unrest ICDM continues to touch the people of Haiti and the Dominican Republic with the love of Jesus. Because we are a distributed ministry we were able to graduate dozens of students from our Portable Bible Schools and School of Evangelism near where they live. On campus in Bayonnais we have restarted our school year for grades Pre-K—12 after a temporary government shutdown of all schools due to the fuel shortage. I am thankful for my family and our Haitian staff who continue to help shoulder the responsibility for ministry. I am thankful for each of you who have shared in ICDM’s calling over the years. Most of all, I am thankful for Jesus Christ who redeemed my life and continues to do so for millions of others.

What are you thankful for?

One of the ways to demonstrate gratitude is by giving. In the Book of Acts, St. Paul recalled that Jesus Himself said it is more blessed to give than to receive. This Christmas Season I invite you to enjoy the blessing of giving by sharing in the work with ICDM in a special way.

Once again we are offering you the opportunity to purchase a chicken, goat, Pig, or cow through our GOATS (Gift of Animals to Succeed). When you purchase an animal for a family it helps secure their future by providing the foundation for long-term food security. What is more, as their animals reproduce, they pass along offspring to other families. The costs are:

Chickens -- $12
Goats -- $100
Pigs -- $125
Cows -- $500

Though your gift to GOATS provides long-term benefits, we are still confronted with more immediate needs for the children in our school. Many of them suffer from hunger and receive their only hot meal of the day from our school. For only 50 cents per child, we can give them a hot nutritious lunch. In this age of rising prices, that’s quite a bargain. For only $400 you can feed the school for a day, for $200, half the school, and for $50, 100 students. Your gift can have a huge impact on the lives of many children!

You may give by mailing a check to:

Tomorrow, November 29, is Giving Tuesday. Why not start your Christmas shopping early by buying a meal or an animal and giving it to people in need? You will be blessed.

Your brother in Christ,
