June Update

Dear friends of ICDM,

I wanted to let you know that God is continuing to use ICDM to build bridges of hope throughout Haiti and the Dominican Republic. He has been doing this for the past 35 years. We celebrated this accomplishment at our 35th Anniversary Celebration that was Livestreamed on April 13th. We hope to have a recording of the event available on our website in the near future.

During the evening, Myriam and I were honored to receive a plaque that reads: “Glory to God and Thanks to Yvan & Myriam Pierre for Helping to Make Jesus Way More Famous throughout Haiti, The Dominican Republic, and Beyond…” I share this with you to highlight the fact ICDM’s main business has always been to make Jesus way more famous. The feeding, the educating, the nursing, the training are all done to glorify God and make Jesus known to a hurting world. Thank you for joining us in this endeavor.

Part of April and May saw us back in the Dominican Republic, continuing to build connections with Haitians and Dominicans throughout that country. During the last few years, God has blessed us with inroads into the Spanish-speaking Dominican churches. I have been meeting with leaders from the Puerto Plata region, and they are about to start Portable Bible Schools throughout their network. We were able to supply them with training and with 150 Spanish versions of the curriculum.

We were also able to lay the groundwork for our Annual Leadership Conference, which will be held January 28-31, 2027. The interesting thing about next year’s conference is that we will welcome more Spanish-speaking Dominicans than usual. We are working on a plan to use AI translation so that we can serve three languages (English, Kreyol, and Spanish) at once. We are excited about this development as it will bring Christian workers from different cultural backgrounds together to learn and grow as brothers and sisters in Christ.

Myriam and I will be heading back to the Dominican Republic in June for an extended stay until August. During that time, we will participate in graduation ceremonies for Portable Bible Schools and Schools of Evangelism, visit churches, and continue to build up leaders.

June is also graduation month in Bayonnais. This year we will be graduating 97 students of which 33 seniors and 20 baccalaureates (year 13) students. Many of these children have been with us throughout their school years and it is a great thing to see them launch into the next phase of their lives.

We are so grateful for your help in making all this happen. Together, we truly have been making Jesus way more famous throughout Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and beyond!

Blessings,
