ICDM: The Good News continues to spread

Dear friends of ICDM,

We want you to know that your faithful support of ICDM is making a difference, not just in Bayonnais, but throughout Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Bayonnais is home base for the ministry, but because of our efforts in training Christian leaders through Portable Bible Schools and Schools of Evangelism, we have been able to spread quality revival and community transformation to many other places. This month, we thought you might like to hear directly from the field, so I share this letter from one of out Haitian partners, Pastor Eugene Demanoy:

Twenty years ago, I met with Pastor Yvan Pierre, and since then we have been intertwined in the vision of transformation, restoration, and complete change of the individual, whether man, woman, young person, or child. As ICDM's missionary representative in the Northwest, based in Port-de-Paix, I work in the region to bring hope to the lost and to guide the disoriented.

Our paths crossed with a young boy from the Bony area, Bassin-Bleu communal section, named Alyps IFREINE. Alyps received training through ICDM’s Portable School Bible School, School of Evangelism, and Children's Club program (GC3). In Isaiah 61:1-3 we read the following words: The Spirit of the Lord, the Eternal One, is upon me, for the Eternal One has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted…

With a deep love for evangelizing children, Alyps created a club in Nan Bony to educate young children and teenagers, aiming to bring about holistic change in the lives of the people and the community. To help children access education, a school is now planned to open in the area on October 12, 2026. This puts words into action. Children who previously had to travel to the countryside or Bassin Bleu for school will now be able to stay in their own community to receive an education.

The Nan Bony Children’s Club about to become a school.
All of this was made possible thanks to the training I received from ICDM, who transformed the environment of individuals, including myself.  Paul Yonggicho once said: “Change a man and he will change his environment.” ICDM was a comprehensive transformation for me and my whole area.

Pastor Demanoy’s experience has been replicated hundreds of times through the ICDM-trained pastors, and we continue to marvel at what God is doing through us. We want you to know that your prayers and financial support of ICDM are making a difference in the lives of others.

As Christmas nears, why not think of alternative gift-giving? Here is a link to the 2026 ICDM Christmas giving brochure. Whether it is feeding a hungry child, providing pre-natal care, or purchasing a goat for a family, these are gifts that provide value year-round. Personally, I have sent this brochure to friends and family who normally give me Christmas gifts, and they have responded most generously. Why not try it yourself?

Blessings,
Rev. Jim Govatos
