Faustin Pierre Update and Important Events

Dear Praying Friends of ICDM:

I am writing today to update you on the health of Brother Faustin, the director of our school in Bayonnais, and to let you know about some very important upcoming events.

Faustin

As I wrote you previously, Brother Faustin Pierre entered the hospital in Gonaives about three weeks ago in urgent need of blood transfusions. His body rejected the transfused blood, however, and his condition was extremely grave. Medical staff discouraged the family from taking him to the big hospital in Port-au-Prince for treatment, because they believed he would not survive the trip.

I called on you to pray, and you did. Faustin made it to Port-au-Prince and is still alive today. Glory to God! He spent one week in ICU, and his body did not reject the transfused blood. From there he went to a private hospital for continuing care, and his doctor told him he would need to go on dialysis. Before starting dialysis, however, Faustin asked for time to resume the natural medications that had previously lowered his creatinine level from 6.6 to 2.5 (normal is 1.5). He is now resting at his sister's home. Please continue to pray with him for complete healing and claim with him Psalm 118:17, “I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the Lord has done.”

Upcoming graduations

Please pray for the 75 trained workers graduating from the School of Evangelism and two Bible schools in the next few weeks. Pray that they will be fully committed to the task of advancing the gospel of Jesus Christ in their areas of ministry and throughout Haiti.

Yesterday, July 29 – 24 students graduate from our Bible School in Saint-Marc.
Sunday, August 12 – 28 students graduate from the School of Evangelism in Cap-Haitien.
Wednesday, August 29 – 23 students graduate from our Bible School in Port-de-Paix.

With your faithful prayer support and generous giving, ICDM will keep on moving forward, fulfilling our commitment to evangelize, educate, equip and empower the people of Haiti to reach and use their God-given potential. Thank you for standing with us!
